Job Description

The Regional Sales Specialist is a successful negotiator, proven sales closer, and excellent communicator.  They must possess a thorough knowledge and related experience in the construction equipment industry, preferably including knowledge of the Vermeer and competitive product lines.  Past experience/working knowledge of financing and sales techniques to properly support lead generation and deal negotiation. They will be responsible for all facets of the sales process on a daily basis and will report to the Sales Manager.

Hours of Operation:  Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-5:00pm

Pay Structure:  Base Salary Plus Commission

Location: Northern Wisconsin

Primary Responsibilities may include:
  • Meeting established sales goals via promoting, demonstrating and selling Vermeer and other complementary lines of industrial equipment.
  • Accessing customers’ needs and provide solutions to meet their needs.
  • Prospecting and territory management utilizing CRM software supporting the contact data.
  • Build long-term relationships need to be developed and fostered to support continued success with these accounts.
  • Participate in extracurricular events as deemed appropriate to foster customer relationships as well as fellow dealer relationships.
  • Promote rental activity when purchase is not possible.
  • Perform administrative duties to support your sales activity including keeping sales records, expense reports, and creating sales goals.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Successful applicants must possess these qualities:

  • Previous outside sales experience with a proven record of success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or business/sales/marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills with customer service as the primary measure of success.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment including electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of current technology, computers and applications including Microsoft Windows, MS Office suite and ACT/CRM software.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
